Depot Supervisor - Based in Portsmouth - Up to £35k - A great opportunity to join a well-established hire company, where you will be responsible for the running of the workshop by maximising plant for hire, mentoring a team of fitters, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and implementing standards for health and safety within the work place.
The Role:
The Depot Supervisor will be responsible for a stable team of fitters, providing support and guidance whilst continually being hands-on when needed on construction plant equipment. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the efficient running of the workshop
Duties of the Depot Supervisor
- Support and assist with leadership and technical advice to fitters
- Oversee the availability of equipment/spares
- Liaise with colleagues to optimize efficiency and implement lean ways of working
- Carry out risk assessments to meet health and safety guidelines
- Provide efficient cost management of spares and repairs to equipment
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in repairing plant equipment such as diggers, dumpers, generators and power tools
- Proven experience in a senior role with relevant qualification or time-served
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and decision making
- Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines and prioritise tasks
- A confident and flexible attitude
- Full UK Driving license
