This is a Senior Engineering appointment with a multi-million pound company, with realistic targets to double the service, maintenance, installation and after sales revenue to circa £30m within 5 years.

The Engineering Manager will work in partnership with the department heads to ensure Service Levels and maintenance contracts are running at optimum efficiency. You will provide direction and support your national engineering and installation teams, technical managers, leading hands including the after-sales, administration, Health & safety and compliance team. 

Developing and recognising your growing team of 30 is essential and will have previous experience of identifying and upskilling your engineers/managers in an organised manner. Providing an exceptional and high-level customer service is at the forefront of everything the company aims to achieve. You will work alongside Finance to ensure you have adequate resources to fulfil the company needs and ensure cost-effectiveness throughout your department.

The successful manager will be degree educated, ambitious and driven with a positive outlook and fit in within an extremely busy and reactive environment. You will have strong project management experience as well as being an effective communicator. A background in Construction, Materials Handling, Mining, Cranes, Winches, Hoists or lifting would be desirable, but not essential.

Commercial and Operational experience whilst working in the critical and safe working environment, capable of managing and recruiting large teams of engineers is essential.

Key duties will include:

  • Report through clearly defined KPIs, the operational performance of your teams, develop long-range forecasts for projected invoiced revenue, to inform business decisions
  • Lead process change on CRM system where required, to ensure it is fit for purposes in an evolving market
  • Support Sales to analyse customer terms and conditions, tender requests and pricing to ensure that the business is competitive and will win profitable work
  • Coach and develop a practical, commercial and customer-focused outlook throughout the business

The role is predominantly London based, occasional travel and work from home.
