Our client are a leading hire company who supply specialist plant hire equipment to the construction and civil sectors. Due to continued growth within the region, a permanent opportunity has arisen for a Transport Coordinator to work within a busy office in East London.
The Role as Transport Controller
You will be planning, organising and implement routing and tracking of external hauliers and internal fleet of vehicles.
To ensure all transport movements undertaken within the region and nationally are executed in an efficient manner, in line with company policies and adhering to latest H&S regulations. You will review performance and costs, carry out KPI's and driver audits
The Transport Coordinator Candidate will need to be a well organised individual working closely alongside your team members and Line Manager.
Knowledge of the Plant Hire transport industry and legislation is an advantage for this role, as well as having any previous experience and or qualifications (i.e; CPC or routing knowledge) within transport.
Skills Required for the Transport Controller;
Georgraphical knowledge of the UK
Updating computer system - so excellent I.T skills are required.
Hardworking and the ability to work under pressure.
Organised and methodical to ensure all customer enquiries are resolved in an efficient and competent manner.
Previous experience of co-ordinating haulage and transport legislation is essential.
Transport CPC licence or equivalent an advantage.
