Speedy has taken over two powered access hire companies, Prolift Access and Platform Sales & Hire, to become the fourth biggest player in the UK powered access hire market.

PATH Did it in Pink

On 20th October 2017 PATH held a fund raising event to raise money for breast cancer research.

Dressed in pink, we hosted a lunchtime BBQ. The cheeseburgers with all the trimmings, fried onions, gherkins and sauces went down a treat as did the meal deal offer which included a soft drink and a homemade cupcake. Fun was had with the fundraising games, scrambled eggs & guess the sweets in the jar.

The event was well attended by people from nearby offices and as a result a total of £250 was donated to the Breast Cancer Now charity.

GCSEs are changing

GCSEs in England are changing, starting with English and maths in 2017. The new GCSEs will have a new 9 to 1 grading scale to replace A* to G, with 9 the highest grade. The new GCSEs will ensure that students leave school better prepared for work or further study. They cover more challenging content and are designed to match standards in the strongest performing education systems elsewhere in the world. Changing from letters to numbers means you can see easily whether an applicant has taken an old (unreformed) or a new (reformed) GCSE.





To give greater accuracy each grade is divided into 3 sub grades e.g. 6a, 6b, 6c  The sub grades represent:

a = very secure in the grade

b = secure in the grade

c = insecure in the grade



















Growth in house-building -government statistics

Growth in house-building continues, according to government statistics, with new starts reaching their highest level since 2008.

Latest housebuilding data from the Department for Communities & Local Government show that 164,960 new homes were started in the year to June 2017, up 13% on the previous year.

More than 153,000 new homes were completed during the same period, showing an increase of 11% compared with the previous year.


Gloucestershire, South Derbyshire and South Norfolk were among the strongest areas for new starts.

Welcome to Shauna Williams

We are very pleased to welcome Shauna to the PATH team. Shauna has joined us as a Recruitment Resource Apprentice. During the next year Shauna will be training with our experienced team members, whilst also studying and working towards a Level 3 Recruitment Diploma.

We have a client looking for land/premises, 1 to 3 acres, preferably with hardstanding and a workshop, in the following areas:

  • Oxford/Abingdon/Bicester/Witney – required Oct/Dec time
  • Southampton/Totton/Eastleigh – required mid 2018

AFI - Uplift takes over Kimberly Rentals

AFI-Uplift has recently taken over one of its competitors, Kimberly Rentals. The acquisition of Kimberly consolidates AFI's position as the UK’s third biggest powered access supplier.

Tyler Cooke - REC Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice (QCF).

Tyler, a valued member of the PATH Recruitment team, has been promoted to Recruitment Consultant having recently completed the REC Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice (QCF).


The REC regulated qualification increases personal effectiveness and expands an individual’s knowledge base, adding value to the service provided to clients and candidates.
