Circa £35,000 DOE

Our national Construction Hire client is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Service Manager with a previous engineering background to oversee and assist with the daily running of their busy plant machinery workshop, based near Maidstone.
You will have demonstrable experience of maintaining diesel powered equipment, petrol engines, hydraulic systems and electrical appliances and be familiar with various diagnostics equipment including CANbus systems. This will be ideal for someone looking to be "hands on" in the business who can work closely with a small team while managing the workshop day to day.
This role requires a candidate who is self motivated and ambitious with a proven engineering background. You will lead by example and ensure all company procedures and standards are met. You will be responsible for decision making as well as supervising / managing a large team of engineers.
Overseeing orders for spares and consumables in line with company authorisation limits remaining within monthly and annual budgets. You will need to prioritise the repair of equipment that is scheduled to go on-hire.
Qualified to NVQ Plant Maintenance Level 3.
As the service manager, you wil be managing policies and procedures to company standards. Oversee daily workshop activities. Working on behalf of a major hire company, servicing and repairing plant equipment. Proven track record of managing staff. Work well under pressure and retain a positive attitude to customer service. Maintain Health and Safety to Company standards. Allocate and supervise work undertaken by engineers and apprentices. Supervise the workshop facilities and equipment.
Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical and Mechanical experience gained in plant equipment. The ability to service, fault find and repair accordingly using diagnostic software. Good communication skills. NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent would be an advantage.
