Service Manager: A fantastic opportunity for you to work with a company that can provide security, Monday – Friday working hours and progression! If you feel undervalued, looking for a change or just looking to progress, this could be the role for you! 

Work for a leading plant hire company dedicated to high standards, quality plant equipment, and HAPPY STAFF!

To be successful in this role you must have excellent workshop knowledge and experience within the construction plant sector. You will also have experience of managing a small team of engineers, as well as being "hands on", with all the administration associated with this role.

Working closely with the sales and operations team, the service manager will need to specify machines, working with all major plant dealerships and manufacturers. Administrating any warranty claims, recharges to customers, and dealing with clients to prepare quotations for new sales and damages.

PC Literate is an essential skill as you will be working with the company’s database. Interpreting and diagnosing breakdowns to ensure a high level of service is maintained and working with engineers deployed who attend customer sites.

Responsibilities of the Service Manager

  • Motivating staff to achieve their potential and overall effectiveness of their performance and lead by example
  • Manage all service requirements, support sales team and after-sales
  • Help develop the business
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Inspection of heavy plant machinery including warranty and claims
  • Minimising associated costs and maximising efficiency.
  • Responsible for HR issues concerning all technical staff working both in the workshop and mobile.
  • To work within the confines of the budget and maintain/exceed targets.
