Why am I not hearing back from job applications?

Posted on 23 April 2021

You may wonder why you are not hearing back from hiring managers after hitting the apply button on applications. You may think am I the problem?

It is just something that every candidate has to prepare for.

Keep reading to find out why.

Qualifications

Unfortunately, you may not be qualified for the role. Most job specifications will name what they are looking for. Therefore, make sure you read the advert thoroughly to get a good understanding of what the employer requires.

Don’t waste your time applying for a role that you know you aren’t qualified for.

Keywords Optimisation

Job descriptions are filled with keywords that should also be in your CV and application.

Employers and recruiters only spend on average between 5-7 seconds reviewing a CV, they will be looking for these keywords.

This is a good way of making sure your CV stands out from the rest.

What you can do:

1.Follow us on social media because we regularly post new opportunities.

2.Consider starting a blog about your interests or expertise in your chosen profession. Include the blog and links to any relevant posts in your emails to recruiters and employers.

3.Do not wait until you are out of work to find a job. Your best chance of finding a job is when you are still employed.

If you do not hear, back from your application do not take it personally. Instead of feeling as if you have been rejected, you can take the time to reflect. Feel free to chat with a consultant at PATH Recruitment on 01933 665 115.
